After two-and-a-half weeks of touring and two summer festival shows, Finnish rockers will record demos for their upcoming album in September, H.I.M. frontman Ville Valo told the free Texas weekly publication What's Up for its May 31-June 6 issue.

After that, they'll show the new songs to their label and to Tim Palmer (David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne), who produced "Dark Light", their latest CD. If all goes well, Valo says, they could be in the studio by January and putting out a new album — their sixth — by September 2007.

"I've got a lot of one-liners in lyrics and musical ideas for maybe 12 songs," Valo told What's Up. "But from those 12 maybe six will end up on the album. What we're doing with the band now is trying to figure out the sound and direction with the next one. We don't want to do the same old, same old again. It's probably going to be a bit more aggressive, a bit punkier, faster so to speak."
